On the March 20, 2013 by the Decree № 198 the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Procedure of registration and re-registration of unemployed and maintaining records on job seekers (hereinafter - the Procedure), which will enter into force on the day of its official publication.

The new Procedure regulates early retirement of unemployed, changing territorial registration authority by unemployed, maintenance and termination of job seekers records, termination of registration, re-registration of unemployed.

In particular, according to the Procedure unemployed status shall be provided since the first day of registration in the territorial authority on the basis of application.

It should be noted, that the current Procedure of 14.02.2007 № 219 (hereinafter - the Procedure № 219), prescribes providing citizens with the status of unemployed since the eighth day after registration in the employment center. The Procedure № 219 shall be voided after the official publication of the New Procedure.

In addition the new Procedure implements a term of suitable work - work that is relevant to education, profession (specialty) and qualification, with proposed salary, which is not less than the salary at the last place of work, with due regard to the average salary, which has evolved over the past month in a region where the unemployed is registered.
