The Law of Ukraine "On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine in connection with the adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons" dated October 16, 2012 № 5453-VI made amendments to the Code of administrative procedure of Ukraine (hereinafter - CAPU).

The amendments are introduced into Article 183-5 of the CAPU. Lawsuits of foreigners (or stateless persons) related to appealing decisions on their refoulement to the home country or to a third country, as well as relevant lawsuits of the State Migration Service of Ukraine (hereinafter– SMSU), can be filed not only at the location of the SMSU now, but at the location of the foreigner (or stateless person) too. 

 Relevant amendments were made in Article 18 of the CAPU.

Also, the Act significantly reduced the time for processing such lawsuits from one month to five days.
